在阿拔斯王朝宫殿的庭院里，砖砌的穆卡纳斯穹顶之下，一场伊拉克玛卡姆音乐的演出即将上演。三位歌手将与一支小型查尔吉乐团（由桑图尔琴、乔扎琴和打击乐器组成）合作，演绎经典的玛卡姆曲目。演出过程中，会有简短的讲解介绍每一种玛卡姆的含义及其在传统中的地位。观众可以坐在庭院的软垫上，演出几乎没有任何扩音设备，而这正是其精髓所在：穹顶本身就足以营造出独特的氛围。晚上七点半开门，八点准时开始。
