Late Opening at the Iraq Museum
Sat, Aug 1 · 6:00 PM
For one evening the Iraq Museum stays open until ten, with the Assyrian and Sumerian galleries lit for night viewing and curators stationed in each hall to answer questions rather than deliver a set tour. Numbers are capped so the rooms stay quiet. The Nimrud reliefs in particular are worth seeing after dark — the raking lamps pick out carving that daylight flattens. Tickets are sold at the door and at the museum's own desk; bring identification for the local rate.
- Assyrian and Sumerian galleries open until 22:00
- Curators stationed in each hall for questions
- Capped attendance, so the rooms stay quiet
