Khan al-Rubu'

On the old desert road between Karbala and Najaf stands Khan al-Rubu', a historic caravanserai built to shelter the pilgrims, traders and travellers who once crossed this route by caravan. Its thick walls and arched bays are a reminder that the journey to the holy cities has always been part of the pilgrimage itself.
