The Holy Tomb (Darih)

Beneath the golden dome stands the darih — the ornate silver-and-gold lattice enclosing the grave of Imam Husayn. Pilgrims move slowly around it, reaching to touch the metalwork and offering their salaam to the martyr of Karbala. This is the emotional heart of any visit.
