Islamic Memory Museum

Bab Baghdad
About

The sacred city of Karbala is considered a destination for culture and civilization. Since it was purified by Alid blood and its name became synonymous with the city of Al Hussein (peace be upon him), it has become an important stop attracting millions of visitors from various parts of the earth, making it necessary to establish an institution documenting the events that occurred during the life of the Noble Prophet.

Thus, a museum was established in the city center bearing the name "Islamic Memory Museum" embodied through silent statues and still scenes that painted expressive tableaux of those eras.

It was founded by the Women's Religious Rites Revival Committee under the auspices of the International Imam Al Shirazi Foundation on the twenty-seventh of Rajab in the year 1435 AH, and represents the first embodiment museum narrating the biography of the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him and his family).

The museum narrates the biography of the Noble Prophet's life in sequential stories, and in every corner a story is told through the statues in various scenes, among them:

The scene of Lady Khadija spending her wealth in the service of Islam, The scene of the public call to Islam and the harm the Prophet endured in spreading it.

The scene of the Prophetic Migration and the events of Medina, The conquest of Mecca and the Pledge of Ghadir.

Reaching the martyrdom of the Prophet and the events that followed

n addition to the project covering the painful events of Al Taff from the departure of Imam Hussein from Medina until the return of the caravan to it

The statues displayed inside the museum are made of fiberglass, distinguished by its resistance to humidity and heat. The museum witnesses a large influx of visitors from inside and outside Iraq, as well as a visit by a UNESCO delegation. The museum also receives special visits from schools, colleges, and delegations from inside and outside Iraq.
