About

Khan Al Rub' (Khan Al Nukhayla) is one of the most prominent historical khans (caravanserais) in Iraq, and one of the historical landmarks of the city of Karbala.

It is located 16 km from the city center, on the Najaf-Karbala road. Its construction dates back to the Ottoman era, and it is called "Khan Al Rub'" (Quarter Khan) because it sits at the quarter-point of the distance between Karbala and Najaf.

It was used as a resting place for travelers arriving in Karbala.
