Namira Mosque (Masjid Al-Namira)

A vast historic mosque in Wadi Uranah on the western edge of the Plain of Arafat, believed to be where the Prophet Muhammad camped before delivering his Farewell Sermon. It is where the annual Hajj sermon (khutbah) is delivered and the combined Dhuhr and Asr prayers are led on the Day of Arafah. First built in the 9th century (Abbasid era) and greatly expanded by the Saudi state.
