Shrine of Salman al-Farisi

At Salman Pak, beside the great arch of Ctesiphon south of Baghdad, stands the shrine of Salman al-Farisi — the Persian companion of the Prophet Muhammad who by tradition is buried here. A domed mausoleum and mosque mark the tomb of one of the most revered figures of early Islam, drawing pilgrims to the banks of the Tigris.
