Hanan Mosque
Rusafa / Saray district
A small neighbourhood mosque on the eastern side of Baghdad's Rusafa district, set near the cluster of heritage buildings around the Saray area and Mutanabbi Street. The building is modest in scale compared to the great Ottoman and Abbasid mosques nearby — a single dome, an unadorned minaret, and a quiet courtyard — but it remains in steady daily use by the surrounding community. Visitors passing between the Saray Gate, Mutanabbi Street, and Al Rasheed Street often glimpse it from the side streets. Like most working mosques in Baghdad, it welcomes respectful visitors outside prayer times; women are advised to dress modestly.
