Cave of Hira (Ghar Hira)

Ghar Hira is a small cave near the top of Jabal al-Nour, about 3.7 m long and roughly 1.6 m wide, where Islamic tradition holds the Prophet Muhammad received the first Quranic revelation. Its mouth opens to the north and its interior faces the direction of the Kaaba, and it holds only about five people at a time.
