Cave of Thawr (Ghar Thawr)
Jabal Thawr
A small granite cave near the summit of Jabal Thawr where, according to Islamic tradition, the Prophet Muhammad and Abu Bakr took refuge for three days and nights from the Quraysh during the Hijrah (migration) to Madinah in 622 CE. It is a popular ziyarah (visitation) site, though not part of the formal Hajj or Umrah rites.
